Summary: We chose Cihan Palas because of its history and location. It's well past its best now but you can tell it used to be the height of glamour last century. The spiral staircase is impressive and there are comfy leather seats on the top floor terrace. It was lacking in upkeep, as shown by some lights not working in the room, dirty shower screen and toilet rubbish left in the fridge, missing towels and toilet paper. However the staff were quick to respond when we asked for supplies. The elderly gentleman on the front desk was a complete charmer and as helpful as can be and the young lady was quick to make us coffees and make us comfortable. Close to lots of shops and easy walking distance to many of Ankara's sights. Recommended if you can tolerate a few imperfections. Large room, good value for money.
